Why Feeling Special Might Be Holding You Back

What if you’re not as special as you think? And what if that’s the most freeing realization of all?

In this reflective episode, I share my personal thoughts on how my identity has often been tied to being “special” - from childhood achievements to spiritual gifts, and the burnout that came from trying to do it all. I invite you to explore the weirdness of duality with me - through a number of self-inquiry questions - to understand your internal paradox of being both special and not special at all. 

And any other parts of your life where you are experiencing this tension.

I invite you to reflect on the following:

- What is my relationship to feeling special? 

- What if I weren't that special?

- How can I relate to not feeling special differently?

And more broadly:

 - How do you relate to both sides of the same coin? For example, what is your relationship to your future state and what is your relationship to your present state?

- Is there a step, or even more simply, is there a thought or even an affirmation or a mantra that you can hold onto or come back to, to gently invite yourself back to relate to it differently?
